Funded Travel Awards

The ECIP Travel Award is meant to defray part of the costs incurred to attend the meeting.  The award money is expected to range between $500.00 – $2,000.00 USD depending on the actual costs of the travel involved.  Travel Awardees must register at the student rate to qualify for the funds. In addition to the travel award funds, one senior researcher will serve as a mentor during the 2017 WCPG to an early career investigator.  The mentor and investigator will have an opportunity to establish contact prior to the meeting.  At the meeting, a formal gathering for both will be scheduled.

Criteria for Selection:
In order to be part of the program, applicants will be evaluated based on the following:

  • Quality of submitted abstract
  • CV
  • Personal Statement
  • Letter of support by your immediate supervisor

The above criteria will be considered for the Travel Awards in addition to the applicants need for funds.

We are especially interested in alcohol-related submissions for travel awards. Abstracts relevant to this scientific field are highly encouraged to be submitted by early career investigators.

* All ECIP Travel Award applicants must register by July 28, 2017 to be considered for an award.
* Only individuals who have not received a travel award for WCPG in the past four years qualify for the award in 2017.
